Each Girls Club meeting includes a themed interactive and instructional lesson, followed by an activity that allows students to work in a hands-on learning environment. Girls Club instructors take special care to explain and discuss the real world applications of the lesson to show students the connections between studying, applicable careers and impact on others.
One week of Girls Club involves a Special Event or Field Trip. In the past, Girls Club has made visits to such places as the travelling science lab from the Royal Ontario Museum, the Ontario Science Centre, and other destinations that allow the students to explore in fun and interesting ways.
Girls Club concludes with a Mentorship Event that brings female guest speakers to Girls Club. These professionals speak about their experiences and passions in the areas of science, technology or engineering—a truly inspiring experience for all Girls Club members!
